The vehicle is being engineered with an automotive powertrain, independent suspension, selectable four-wheel drive, locking differentials, electric power steering, oversized low-pressure tires, onboard tire inflation, sealed electrical systems and water-operation capability.

We are assembling a hands-on U.S.-based engineering team to complete the design, build an Alpha prototype, perform testing and release a production-intent Beta vehicle.

Position Summary

The Electrical & Prototype Integration Engineer will help design, build, document and troubleshoot the complete electrical system for the VORREK prototype vehicle.

This is a practical engineering position. The selected candidate will work directly with CAD engineers, mechanical engineers, fabricators, suppliers and test personnel.

The role includes electrical design, wiring-harness development, controls integration, prototype assembly, diagnostics and physical vehicle testing.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop the vehicle electrical architecture under the direction of the Chief Vehicle Engineer.

Create electrical schematics and system diagrams.

Design and document the prototype wiring harness.

Create connector pinout tables, wire lists and harness drawings.

Select wire gauges, fuses, relays, terminals and circuit-protection devices.

Integrate the starter, alternator, batteries, disconnects and grounding system.

Specify waterproof connectors and sealed bulkhead penetrations.

Develop harness routing that protects against heat, water, vibration and physical damage.

Integrate vehicle lighting, switches, heated seats and heated grips.

Integrate electric power steering.

Integrate the winch, air compressor and central tire-inflation controls.

Integrate bilge pumps, water-level sensors and warning systems.

Support engine ECU, instrument display and diagnostic integration.

Support CAN-bus communication between vehicle systems.

Develop small control modules or interface boards where required.

Program and test embedded controllers when appropriate.

Support prototype wiring, assembly, startup and commissioning.

Diagnose electrical faults during prototype testing.

Maintain accurate wiring revisions and as-built records.

Support environmental, vibration, water-ingress and durability testing.

Coordinate with outside ECU-calibration, harness-manufacturing and controls specialists.

Convert the prototype electrical system into production-ready documentation.

Ability to read and create electrical schematics.

Experience with embedded controllers, sensors or electronic control systems.

Hands-on experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies and diagnostic equipment.

Experience assembling, testing or repairing physical hardware.

Basic understanding of circuit protection, voltage drop, grounding and power distribution.

Ability to document designs clearly.

Willingness to work directly on the physical prototype.

Ability to work independently while following controlled engineering-release procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

Automotive, powersports, marine, military, agricultural or construction-equipment experience.
