ABOUT VOORHEES UNIVERSITY
In celebration of its 125th year of existence on April 7, 2022, Voorhees College was renamed Voorhees University to honor founder, Elizabeth Evelyn Wight. Voorhees University is a private, diverse, historically black, coeducational, liberal arts, baccalaureate degree-granting institution affiliated with the Episcopal Church. Position: Director, Wright/Potts Library
Division: Academic Affairs
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
FLSA Classification: Salaried, Exempt
Position Type/Duration: Full Time/12 months
Position Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday - Friday (some extended hours and travel may be required)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plan and administer relevant library services to meet the scholarly and general information needs of the University's constituents.
- Formulate and implement policies and procedures related to library services.
- Recruit, select, train, and supervise professional and paraprofessional staff, as necessary.
- Coordinate the development and management of library collections.
- Prepare and supervise expenditure of the library budget.
- Compile statistics and prepare reports on the library and its operations.
- Serve as a member of the Academic Policy Committee, the Academic Dean's Council, and other University standing committees.
- Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

EDUCATION
- A master's degree in library science, and at least five years of successful professional experience, preferably within an academic library.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
- Significant knowledge of library operations and management.
- Ability to identify, evaluate, and utilize appropriate technological applications, both general and library specific.
- Considerable knowledge of current issues and trends in librarianship.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and collegially with various University constituents and other pertinent persons within a consortial environment.
