To lead the daily aftermarket receiving operations and material organization within storage areas. The primary job responsibilities are to supervise processes, people and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to a production schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- The Material supervisor drives replenishment of make and buy parts to acceptable inventory levels.
- The Material supervisor provides leadership and training direction to direct reports and takes responsibility for process sustainment.
- Makes recommendations to management regarding improving processes.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts within receiving and material storage areas.
- Oversee Kanban Audit and reporting of Kanban countermeasures.
- Responsible for escalation of POU “point of use” material shortages
- Responsible to oversee tracking OTD “on time delivery” of consignment inventory receipts.
- Oversee escalations to receiving teams and material handling teams of hot part receipts.
- Reviews direct reports’ accuracy and urgency
- Interface and communicate with production team
- Responsible to issue corrective action
- Interface and communicate with Planner/Buyer team
- Equally important, the incumbent will manage and optimize related inventory programs without negatively impacting production to gain best use of working capital.
- Partner with the business to track “End of Life” (EOL) and “Last time buy” (LTB) and create a system for visibility
- Ability to maintain clear and effective communication channels, both internally and externally
- Accurate real time inventory
- FIFO concepts for stock rotation are followed
- Proficient at the use of MS office applications including Word, Excel, and Access
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methods
- Excellent communication skills
- Technically capable of grasping new concepts quickly
- Functions effectively as a team member in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment
- Prone to take responsibility and make decisions.
- Self-motivated and a high achiever
- BS or BA Degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
- 2 years of materials warehouse experience in a Pull Replenishment environment is required.
- MUST HAVE STRONG: Leadership skills, oral and written presentation communication skills, team player mentality, negotiation skills, self-motivation, and a contributor outlook, etc.
- Ability and willingness to coach and train others
- Ability to handle a fast pace working environment, changing production demands and a willingness to flex working hours to meet the needs of the business as needed
- Fluent user of kanban box (able to problem solve abnormalities)
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset that is willing to challenge the status quo
