Position: Shop Foreman

Location: Denver, Colorado

Reports To: Head of Production

Department: Production


As a Shop Foreman, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the shop production floor, ensuring precision, efficiency, and top-tier craftsmanship of cabinetry parts. Your primary functions will include leading the charge on CNC part production, setting and maintaining shop benchmarks and pace, supervising shop labor, and managing quality control throughout the production process. You will collaborate closely with the Head of Production, Assembly Foreman, Materials & Delivery Coordinator, and Project Managers to ensure seamless workflow and timely project completion. With proven expertise in CNC woodworking workflows and production efficiency, you’ll play a critical role in delivering the high-quality, on time work the rest of our team expects and relies on.

What You’ll Do:

Cabinetry CNC Part Production

    • Operate and oversee CNC machinery to ensure accurate and consistent production of cabinet components.

    • Interpret and review Work Order instructions and cut lists for optimal material usage and precision part production

    • Troubleshoot CNC programming or mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity.

    • Maintain tool maintenance schedules to ensure peak machine performance and longevity.

    • Monitor and keep up to date all work order cards intended for shop production

Establish Shop Benchmarks and Pace

    • Set daily shop production goals aligned with project timelines and company standards.

    • Monitor workflow and adjust labor or machine allocation to meet efficiency targets.

    • Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and streamline operations.

    • Analyze shop production data to identify areas for continuous improvement.

Shop Quality Control

    • Conduct regular inspections of parts to ensure compliance with quality and Vonmod standards.

    • Develop and enforce quality control protocols at each stage of shop production.

    • Collaborate with the Assembly Foreman to address fit, finish, and functional issues proactively.

Shop Labor Supervision

    • Direct and support shop labor with clear expectations and coaching.

    • Assign tasks and manage labor distribution to maintain a balanced workflow.

    • Train new shop labor in shop safety procedures, machine operation, and Vonmod standard of quality control.

    • Provide reports to Head of Production on the proficiency, achievements, training gaps, and/or issues with shop tech labor

Workflow & Efficiency Development

    • Work with the Head of Production to develop Shop standardized Workflows

    • Refine Shop Production Sequences for Efficiency

    • Collaborate Cross-Functionally for Seamless Handoffs

Assembly Assist

    • Perform the duties of an Assembly Bench as needed to balance workflow

    • Stand in as temp Assembly Foreman on occasion


You’ll be a great fit if you:

    • Have hands-on experience in CNC woodworking equipment and specialty tools

    • Have a background in cabinetry, millwork, or fine woodworking

    • Can read and follow technical drawings with precision

    • Understand how to pace your work within a larger team flow

    • Have the ability to task and supervise labor

What Success Looks Like:

    • Work orders completed on time and to specification

    • Parts passing internal quality checks

    • Smooth integration with all zones in production (Assembly, Materials, Custom Fabrication, Staging, Delivery)

    • Smooth integration with all departments (Studio & Install)

Work Environment:

    • Majority of your time will be spent in Vonmod’s climate-controlled shop

    • Fast-paced, hands-on workflow with strong team communication
