Every cocktail and every glass of cider we pour at the von Stiehl Cider & Spirits Bar has a job to do: help guests figure out what they love so they can take home a growler or bottle. You’ll be the person who makes that happen. You’ll pour, chat, ask good questions, listen to the answers, and point guests toward the cider or spirit that fits them.

We’re looking for friendly, outgoing people who genuinely enjoy talking with strangers and aren’t shy about asking for the sale. You don’t need to be an expert on cider or spirits when you start. We’ll train you and pay you while you learn.

The bar runs year-round, with more hours in the summer. It’s a laid-back, cozy place, and we want you to have fun while you’re there. Our guests can tell when the team is enjoying themselves, and it makes them want to stay a little longer.

What you’ll do

• Greet every guest warmly and guide them through our ciders, spirits, and cocktails
• Use tastings, pours, and cocktails to help guests find their favorites, then help them buy bottles to take home
• Share our club opportunities with guests who’d benefit from them
• Keep up with our current offerings so you can recommend with confidence
• Manage a line of guests, fill orders quickly and accurately, and ring up sales on our point-of-sale system
• Serve alcohol responsibly, check IDs, and pour as ordered
• Keep the bar, service areas, and restrooms clean and well stocked
• Let management know when supplies are running low
• Attend team meetings and trainings, and pitch in on cleaning projects
• Work well with your teammates and treat guests and coworkers with respect

What we’re looking for

• A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and real enjoyment of talking with people
• Comfort with selling: you listen well, make good recommendations, and follow through
• Curiosity about our products and a desire to learn
• Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette
• Good multitasking, judgment, and punctuality
• A professional appearance and demeanor
• Must be at least 21 years old
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

The physical side

You’ll be on your feet for long stretches, walking, bending, and reaching, and you’ll need to lift up to 40 pounds. The bar can get busy and loud, with conversation, music, and outdoor noise, and you’ll be in close contact with guests.
