Job Overview:

Von Paris Moving & Storage is seeking an experienced Dispatcher to join our Operations team. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented and decisive professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and excels at coordinating drivers, managing schedules, and keeping daily operations on track.

As a Dispatcher, you will play a key role in daily operations – making real‑time adjustments, resolving variances, and ensuring our customers receive excellent service. Responsibilities:

• Plan, schedule, and dispatch drivers and contractors for local and long-distance moves to ensure efficient operations.
• Adjust routes and schedules to account for traffic, weather, delays, customer requests and site requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing job details, updates, and support.
• Review job assignments with drivers and contractors, including special instructions and important details.
• Monitor job progress using dispatch software and GPS systems to ensure timely service.
• Respond to incoming inquiries regarding scheduling and job status.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and operational issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Maintain accurate records of schedules, crew assignments, and job documentation.
• Prepare drivers’ paperwork and coordinate out-of-state labor as needed.
• Support the Warehouse Manager in planning and coordinating warehouse activities.
• Assist Sales and Customer Service teams with service questions, access checks, and operational support.
• Support accounting by reviewing drivers’ paperwork to ensure all required documents are complete and included and address any related questions.
• Collaborate with the Claims Director to mitigate and resolve claim issues.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with van line partners and affiliates.
• Assist with maintaining and updating operational policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, DOT and FMCSA guidelines.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
• Represent the company in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Proficiency with dispatching software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of local geography and routes is preferred
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• At least 2 - 3 years of dispatching experience in the moving, logistics, transportation, or related industry experience preferred

New hires are subject to a 90-day probationary period.

Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
