About The Role
Position Description:
This intern role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the graduate's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The intern experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group by working on important and innovative projects. The internship allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo Group.The Human Resources Intern will support the daily operations of the Human Resources department within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role provides hands-on experience in a variety of HR functions including recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, compliance, training, and administrative support. The intern will gain exposure to labor relations, safety programs, time and attendance, and HR systems.
Responsibilities / Main Tasks / Targets:Assist with onboarding and orientation of new hiresSupport recruiting efforts by screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and attending job fairsMaintain accurate and confidential employee records (digital and paper-based)Help update HR policies, procedures, and training documentsParticipate in employee engagement initiatives and eventsSupport time and attendance audits and reportingAssist with internal communications related to HR updates or eventsHelp facilitate compliance training (safety, anti-harassment, etc.)Provide general administrative support to HR team (filing, data entry, preparing reports)Observe and support investigations, corrective actions, and other employee relations activities (as appropriate)Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Skills and Responsibilities:Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading skills, and speaking.Ability to tailor communication style based on the platform and audienceAbility to manage multiple projects and work assignmentsExcellent interpersonal skills with high professionalismAbility to accomplish projects with little supervisionProficient using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointBasic knowledge of Photoshop and/or Canva preferred, but not required
