Parts Counterperson Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
- Provide the highest level of service to both internal and external customers
- Communicate with staff and customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Using the electronic catalog, look up parts for retail, wholesale and service customers
- Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers
- Converse effectively and efficiently regarding customer parts status
- Review body shop estimates to verify the parts ordered are correct and all pricing is in line with the estimate
- Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock
- Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
- Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order
- Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order
- Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization
Parts Counterperson Qualifications:
- Eager to thrive in a dynamic working team environment
- Strong interpersonal and time management skills
- Ability to understand and carryout oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- High School Diploma or equivalent and prior auto parts sales experience (preferred)
