What are the responsibilities and job description for the MEDICAL DIRECTOR – IV HYDRATION AND WELLNESS SPA position at Volvere Vie?
About Volvere Vie Wellness Spa
Volvere Vie Wellness Spa is a new IV hydration and wellness company in
Reston, Virginia, committed to delivering safe, high-quality,
patient-centered services. We are seeking an experienced and engaged
Virginia-licensed physician to serve as our Medical Director and help
establish a compliant clinical program.
This is an active clinical leadership position—not a nominal or
“signature-only” Medical Director role.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical leadership and oversight for the company’s IV
hydration and injectable services.
Evaluate patients and establish a valid practitioner-patient
relationship, either in person or through compliant real-time
telehealth.
Develop individualized treatment plans and issue patient-specific
orders for IV fluids, vitamins, medications, and injections.
Remain readily available by telephone or secure electronic
communication during clinical operations.
Practice onsite as required to support lawful medication procurement,
stocking, storage, and clinical operations.
Establish and approve clinical policies, treatment standards,
contraindications, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and
emergency-response procedures.
Supervise and appropriately delegate clinical responsibilities to
Virginia-licensed nurses and other qualified personnel.
Verify that clinical team members possess the required licenses,
education, competency, and training.
Provide or oversee initial and ongoing competency assessments for IV
administration, medication safety, aseptic technique, patient
monitoring, and emergency response.
Review patient records and conduct periodic chart audits for quality
assurance and regulatory compliance.
Ensure that patients do not select prescription IV treatments from a
menu without an individualized medical evaluation.
Oversee informed-consent, documentation, adverse-event reporting,
referral, and follow-up procedures.
Assist with compliance concerning medication sourcing, storage,
preparation, mixing, dilution, reconstitution, and applicable USP
standards.
Collaborate with ownership and legal and compliance professionals
while maintaining independent clinical judgment.
Participate in periodic quality-assurance and clinical operations meetings.
Required Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in Virginia.
License in good standing with the Virginia Board of Medicine.
Appropriate professional liability insurance covering the Medical
Director’s services.
Experience in emergency medicine, internal medicine, family medicine,
urgent care, anesthesiology, or a related field.
Familiarity with IV therapy, medication administration, telehealth,
clinical delegation, and emergency-response procedures.
Ability to provide meaningful clinical oversight and participate
onsite as required.
Strong commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and regulatory
compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
Board certification in a relevant specialty.
Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Prior experience serving as a Medical Director.
Experience supervising registered nurses in an outpatient, mobile,
wellness, or infusion setting.
Knowledge of Virginia laws and professional-board guidance governing
IV hydration clinics, nursing practice, prescribing, pharmacy
operations, and telemedicine.
Schedule
This is a flexible, part-time opportunity. The anticipated time
commitment will depend on patient volume and operational needs and
will include a combination of:
Scheduled onsite clinical involvement;
Real-time patient evaluations;
Remote consultation availability;
Periodic chart reviews and quality-assurance meetings; and
Policy development and staff training.
How to Apply
Please submit your résumé or curriculum vitae, a brief statement
describing your relevant clinical and Medical Director experience,
