General Function:
The Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Volunteers of America Western Washington (VOAWW) and the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center by supporting daily operations and ensuring an exceptional, welcoming experience for all who walk through our doors. As a frontline ambassador to a vibrant community hub serving South Snohomish and North King Counties—particularly individuals and families who have been historically underserved—this position helps create an environment where connection, dignity, and access to resources thrive. We are seeking someone who is passionate about community service, committed to equity, and eager to contribute to an efficient, responsive, people-centered operation that uplifts both our internal team and the broader community we serve.
Principal activities:
- Greet persons entering the Center, assess immediate needs and direct to proper program for more information
- Answer, screen and direct incoming phone calls, Info, emails and forward messages, and provide information to callers
- Place office supplies orders for Site Director and LNC site
- Provides administrative and program support on special projects for multiple programs
- Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
- Process daily incoming/outgoing mail, and deliver to post office as needed
- Manage and process all incoming and outgoing deliveries
- Organize and track room reservations
- Ship out FedEx, UPS and other packages
- Provide general administrative and clerical support
- Control inventory relevant to Administration
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:Qualifications:
- High School diploma plus five to seven years previous office and computer experience (or related work) required, AA or BA degree preferred
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Reliability and stress tolerance required
- Ability to exercise good judgment, be compassionate, confidential, and work with vulnerable & diverse populations
- Information management and attention to details
- Ability to work independently
- Competence in MS Office required, especially Word and Excel, any other software expertise is a plus.
