Resident Assistant

Job Summary
Resident Assistants facilitate program activities ensuring Volunteers of America of Upstate New York's philosophy and practices are carried out in all areas of client care in accordance with relevant regulations and funding source requirements.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Intake and discharge of residents including all related data entry, filing and record keeping.
- Completing reports, resident follow-up calls and other administrative tasks as requested.
- Perform all PREA-related requirements as specified in agency PREA policies.
- Assists residents to understand and follow policies and program rules.
- Provides other assistance to residents and program staff as needed.
- Monitoring of resident medications.
- Facility surveillance including answering phones, hourly indoor and outdoor rounds and camera systems monitoring.
- Maintain facility sanitation and safety standards.
- Prepare units for new residents.
- Other duties as directed.
- Demonstrated ability to work with vulnerable populations
- Ability to obtain adult and pediatric first aid/CPR certification
