What are the responsibilities and job description for the Executive Assistant to President and CEO position at Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana?
Behind a leader who can stay focused on the mission is an exceptional executive assistant who makes it possible.
You see around corners. Bring calm to a packed calendar. Know when to take initiative, when to ask a thoughtful question, and when discretion matters most.
You don’t just keep things organized. You help things happen.
If that sounds like you, Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana wants to meet you. We’re hiring an Executive Assistant to the President & CEO, an experienced professional ready to bring initiative, judgment, and a service-minded approach to a mission-driven organization.
An opportunity to work close to the mission and the people moving it forward.
Working directly with the President & CEO, you’ll be a central connection point for the executive office, board of directors, senior leadership, donors, and community partners. Your work will help turn priorities into action, keep relationships connected, and give the CEO the space to focus on mission-critical work.
What will you make possible?
▪️ A day built around what matters most. Manage a complex calendar, coordinate travel, and anticipate needs before they become urgent.
▪️ Communication that builds trust. Prepare correspondence, support stakeholder outreach, and handle sensitive information with care.
▪️ Leadership and board meetings that move work forward. Coordinate agendas and materials, capture accurate minutes, and keep follow-up on track.
▪️ Projects that don’t lose momentum. Navigate competing priorities and carry special assignments from first steps through completion.
▪️ A CEO's office that runs smoothly. Own the everyday logistics, office needs, and hands-on details because excellent support is both big-picture and practical.
You could be the right fit if you bring:
▪️ Five or more years of experience supporting C-suite executives.
▪️ Experience supporting a board of directors, including meetings, minutes, and resolutions.
▪️ Excellent writing, organization, and relationship-building skills.
▪️ Value authenticity, transparency, and integrity.
▪️ Sound judgment, discretion, and composure when priorities shift.
▪️ A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Why make this your next move?
Because your executive support experience can do more than keep a busy office running. Here, it can help a mission-driven, community-oriented organization move forward. You’ll work directly with the CEO, build relationships across the organization, and bring your strengths to work where thoughtful support matters.
