Serving Crosswalk Youth Shelter, Alexandria’s House, and Aston Bleck Apartments
Location: Spokane, WA | Status: Full-Time, Hourly


Schedule: This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). A typical schedule is Monday–Friday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with some flexibility to meet participant or program needs. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required for resident support or program events. Participation in a rotating on-call schedule may also be required.

Volunteers of America Eastern Washington & Northern Idaho (VOA) is a mission-driven behavioral health organization delivering housing-first, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented services to individuals impacted by homelessness, poverty, and co-occurring behavioral health disorders. Our continuum of care includes permanent supportive housing, youth and family services, low-barrier shelters, and medical respite programs.


Position Overview

This position provides leadership and supervision for Case Managers serving youth ages 13–22 within VOA’s licensed youth programs:

  • Crosswalk Youth Shelter – a low-barrier crisis shelter offering immediate safety, meals, and support for youth ages 13–17.
     
  • Alexandria’s House – a licensed home for pregnant and parenting teens working toward stability and long-term success.
     
  • Aston Bleck Apartments – supportive housing for young women and their babies transitioning toward independence.
     

All programs operate 24/7, providing trauma-informed care focused on empowerment, recovery, and growth.


As the Case Manager Supervisor, you will lead and mentor a team of Case Managers serving youth and young families in these licensed behavioral-health programs. You’ll guide staff in trauma-informed care, ensure documentation and compliance standards are met, and collaborate across VOA and community partners to connect youth and families with the resources they need to thrive.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and support a team of Case Managers serving youth in licensed programs.
     
  • Model empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence in every interaction, guiding staff to do the same.
     
  • Provide training, mentoring, and feedback to ensure quality, compliance, and trauma-informed practice.
     
  • Oversee case management activities, ensuring documentation accuracy, timely follow-up, and adherence to program standards.
     
  • Collaborate across VOA programs and with community partners to connect youth and families to resources.
     
  • Support staff in crisis management, maintaining professional boundaries, and practicing de-escalation techniques.
     
  • Promote equity and inclusion through culturally responsive supervision and decision-making.
     
  • Exercise prudent stewardship of agency resources and uphold ethical, professional behavior at all times.
     
  • Partner with leadership to align program outcomes, data reporting, and grant compliance requirements.
     

Requirements

 

What You’ll Bring:


Candidates must meet DCYF licensing standards (WAC 110-145-1440) and one of the following qualification pathways:

Option 1 – Master’s Path

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field
     
  • 1 year experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults
     
  • 1 year of supervisory, lead, or team coordination experience
     

Option 2 – Bachelor’s Path

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Human Development, or Behavioral Science
     
  • 2 years of experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults
     
  • 1 year supervisory or leadership experience
     

Option 3 – Experience Path

  • 5 years full-time experience in a behavioral-health, housing, or social-services field, including staff supervision or mentoring experience
     

Additional Requirements:

  • At least one year of supervisor/manager experience
     
  • AAC licensure (or eligibility upon hire)
     
  • CPR/First Aid/BBP certification, Food Handler’s Permit, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance
     
  • Negative TB test (provided at no cost upon hire)
     
  • Successful completion of DCYF background check and driving record review
     

Preferred:

  • Experience using Credible EHR, HMIS, or similar systems
     
  • Familiarity with ASO, TIEH, or FCS grant frameworks
