Foreman
Reporting to the Operations Support Supervisor and effectively managing day-to-day activities. Lead and manage all safety efforts at the plant as well as site planning, mine/pit development, quality control, and maintenance functions. Additional responsibilities include asset protection, financial evaluation, budgeting and cost control, regulatory compliance and community relations. Ensure compliance with company mandated safety and environmental policies, programs and guidelines, while providing strong leadership, training, team building and supervision.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for training and development of team, scheduling, performance management, and effective leadership of hourly workforce
· Successfully lead the Company's safety initiatives
· Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safety
· Implement environmental processes and regulations
· Successfully lead and manage to establish production, safety, and environmental objectives and metrics
· Participate in yearly planning of quarry production, maintenance and salary costs to meet budget goals
Requirements:
- 5 years' aggregates industry experience including prior production management experience at a comparable size operation preferred
- 3 years of experience as a Foreman or position of similar responsibility
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
- Must be safety conscious, dependable, motivated and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
- Valid Driver’s License
Physical Requirements
- Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment.
- Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection.
- Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Able to lift 75 pounds.
- Willing and able to use shovel when required.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
- Able to work from elevated platforms.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test.
- Must be able to climb stairs to a height of 60 ft. and work at this height.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Effective coordination and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Understand team-based management.
- Self-starter with ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in hydraulic and electrical/mechanical systems a plus
- Computer and Microsoft Office Skills
