Equipment Operator/Laborer

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating and maintaining the stationary plant and mobile equipment. Performs daily maintenance tasks, lubrication of the on all plant and mobile equipment and maintain positive housekeeping practices. Maintenance work can be performed in sometimes dusty and noisy atmospheres. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor; participate in safety inspections and company safety culture.

• Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives.
• Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times.
• Performs daily inspections.
• Performs lubrication on all plants and equipment.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices by washing down areas and equipment.
• Additional operation of mobile equipment is needed.
• Maintain safe and efficient operation of the plant.
• Monitor and maintain supplies and raw materials and notify supervisor ahead of eliminating all materials.
• Assist with training of co-workers as needed.
• Ensure safety guards and barricades are adequate.
• Complete Daily Paperwork
• Participate in safe Lock out/Tag out procedures.
• Participates in other tasks required by supervisor.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.
• Must be safety conscious, dependable, motivated and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
• Valid Driver's license without restrictions
• Work well with your hands - using power tools, hand tools, and mobile equipment to complete tasks.
• Able to read and understand operators' manuals and instructions.
• Able to recognize and address hazards and problems in their work area.

Physical Requirements

• Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment.
• Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Able to lift 75 pounds.
• Willing and able to use shovel when required.
• Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Able to work from elevated platforms.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical/drug/alcohol test.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Effective coordination and communication skills (written and verbal)
• Understand team-based management.
• Must be able to read, write and verbally communicate in the English language.
• Mechanical knowledge
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
