Volunteer Land Development is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator/ Ground Laborer to join our growing team. We specialize in residential and commercial land development, site preparation, grading, utilities, excavation, road construction, and storm drainage projects. We’re looking for a dependable operator who takes pride in quality work, works safely, and can keep production moving.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, compact track loaders, rollers, and other heavy equipment.
- Perform rough and fine grading.
- Install storm drainage, water, and sewer utilities.
- Read and work from construction plans, grade stakes, and specifications.
- Load and unload trucks safely.
- Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance.
- Work alongside laborers, foremen, and project managers to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Perform general ground labor including site cleanup, material handling, hand digging, and assistting crews as needed.
Qualifications
- Must have experience operating heavy equipment in land development and site work.
- Must be able to read and understand construction plans.
- Ability to operate equipment with precision around utilities and structures.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
