Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Program Assistant to join our team! Volunteer For Dental is a 501c3 nonprofit organization which helps community members receive no cost dental services in exchange for volunteer work in the community.
A candidate will provide assistance to Executive Director to manage the VFD program and also promote the program outside the office at outreach events, etc. Candidate should be willing and able to learn new skills, be polite at all times, be a self-starter/work alone, be knowledgeable of computer and social media usage, be comfortable talking with people in person and on the phone, be organized, be able to ask for help if struggling to complete tasks requested, and be supportive of program and its mission. Prior knowledge of dental terminology and procedures is not required but is valued and preferred.
· This is a contractual position and a 1099 is provided for tax purposes.
· 16-20 hours per week Note: outreach events may not fall on office days.
· Required: high school diploma and a valid Michigan driver’s license
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:
1. Answer the phone and voicemail
2. Call all nonprofit partners and update their information regularly
3. Manage outreach events:
a. Registrations
b. Volunteers for events
c. Goodie bag inventory and how many given at each event
d. Setup and tear down at events as needed
e. Track all in a spreadsheet
4. Help with special projects including:
a. CEU’s for providers
b. End of year surveys and mailing
5. Call new or inactive program participants to get them started/back into program
6. Help participants find volunteering opportunities and track volunteer hours in the database
7. Keep inventory of outreach and clinical supplies
a. Prepare and deliver clinical supplies to dental offices as needed
8. Market program throughout the community
a. Post to Facebook and Instagram
b. Deliver VFD rack cards to locations around the community
9. Prepare and help at dental health class once per month on Wednesday afternoon
