Volunteer Florida is currently looking for a Financial Analyst I to join our team. If you possess great organizational skills, have the ability to set goals and priorities, and have the desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative atmosphere, this is the position for you!
Position Summary:
Position responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
- Accounting data entry for budgets and expenditures for local, state, federal, and private funding, contracts, and grants;
- Reviewing and examining documentation on a virtual platform to ensure accuracy, calculations, proper authorization and conformance with grant agreements and state and federal regulations;
- Maintaining financial databases and virtual filing systems;
- Explaining billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and sub-grantees;
- Leading and participating in sub-grantee audits, which includes planning, executing, directing and/or completing financial audits and;
- Developing and leading sub-grantee and internal training programs.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in accounting and budgeting, or other equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
Attention CPA candidates: This position reports to a CPA, which can count toward the experience requirements to obtain your CPA license.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications, preference given to individuals with Abila MIP software experience.
- Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
- Strong analytical and auditing skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
- Detail oriented and organized in work, ability to meet assigned deadlines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and flexible work environment.
- Knowledge of State of Florida operating procedures regarding grants, personnel, fiscal management, budget development, program operation and travel.
- Knowledge of federal grant procedures as well as the OMB Circulars related to non-profit state and local government grants.
