The factory is forecasted to manufacture up to 1,000,000 sq/ft over the first four years.Job Summary:The Multi-Family Modular QA Line Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity, quality craftsmanship, and compliance of modular housing units designed for multi-family residences (apartments, condos, townhomes). This positionrequires specialized knowledge of residential construction standards, building codes, and the unique assembly process of modular components. The Inspector will conduct meticulous in-process and final inspections to guarantee that every module leaving theproduction line meets stringent company standards and all relevant local, state, and federal building codes.Key Responsibilities:? Conduct Specialized Inspections: Perform rigorous quality control inspections on modular units at various stages of the assembly line, focusing specifically on elements critical to multi-family dwellings (e.g., fire suppression systems rough-ins, sound attenuation measures, structural connectivity points, multi-story load path integrity).? Code Compliance Verification: Interpret and apply relevant residential and multi-family building codes (e.g., IBC, IRC, specific state modular building codes) to ensure all components and assembly methods are compliant.? Review Documentation Blueprints: Thoroughly review architectural blueprints, engineering specifications, work orders, and quality checklists to confirm alignment between documentation and physical construction.? Document Non-Conformities: Identify defects, deviations, and non-conformances using digital inspection software or detailed reports. Document issues clearly and concisely for production review and auditing purposes.? Utilize Precision Tools: Employ measurement tools (calipers, levels, moisture meters, inspection gauges) to verify dimensions, alignment, and material quality.? Collaborate on Quality Improvement: Work alongside production supervisors, trade specialists (electrical, plumbing, framing), and the engineering department to stop non-compliant work, address root causes of failures, and implement effective corrective actions immediately.? Maintain Records Traceability: Ensure all inspection records, testing results, and quality assurance documentation are accurately completed, filed, and maintained for potential third-party audits and state certification processes.? Support Third-Party Audits: Assist with inspections conducted by third-party certification agencies and local building officials present on the line.? Adhere to Safety Protocols: Promote and adhere strictly to all workplace safety policies and procedures in a busy manufacturing environment.Work Environment and Physical Demands? Work takes place on an active modular production line with exposure to typical manufacturing conditions (noise, dust, varying temperatures).? Requires the ability to stand, walk, climb, and use hands for extended periods.?
