As the top seller in the Electronics category on Whatnot, Voltage has built a strong reputation for delivering engaging live-auction experiences and offering a wide variety of electronics and merchandise.
We are seeking dependable, detail-oriented Refurbishment and Cleaning Technicians to inspect, clean, test, and prepare electronics for sale during our Whatnot live auctions.
This is a hands-on production role. Successful technicians work efficiently, follow established procedures, identify product issues, and consistently prepare clean, functional, and accurately graded merchandise.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect incoming electronics for damage, missing parts, and functionality
- Clean, sanitize, and detail electronics before they are sold
- Remove stickers, residue, dust, dirt, and cosmetic buildup
- Perform basic testing on electronic devices and accessories
- Identify functional, cosmetic, and safety-related issues
- Complete minor repairs and component replacements when appropriate
- Reset devices and follow approved data-removal procedures
- Match devices with compatible chargers, cables, remotes, or accessories
- Grade products accurately based on condition and functionality
- Separate working, repairable, parts-only, and unsellable merchandise
- Label and organize products after testing and cleaning
- Document testing results, defects, and completed work
- Prepare finished products for photography, inventory, and Whatnot auctions
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
- Properly handle batteries and damaged electronic equipment
- Meet established quality and productivity expectations
- Communicate recurring product issues to supervisors and inventory teams
Primary Goal of the Position
The Refurbishment and Cleaning Technician is responsible for improving the condition, presentation, and sellability of the electronics Voltage receives.
Your work ensures that products are clean, properly tested, accurately graded, and ready to be confidently presented during Whatnot auctions. The ideal technician balances speed with attention to detail and takes pride in producing consistent, high-quality work.
Paid Training
New hires receive paid, hands-on training at $18 per hour.
During training, you will learn:
- Voltage’s cleaning and refurbishment standards
- Electronics testing and inspection procedures
- Product condition and functionality grading
- Approved device-reset and data-handling procedures
- Basic troubleshooting and repair techniques
- Safe handling of electronics, batteries, and cleaning materials
- Inventory labeling and documentation requirements
- Productivity and quality-control expectations

What We’re Looking For
