Hospitality Team Member — Volta Wine Market

Opening soon in downtown St. Petersburg, Volta Wine Market is a fine wine shop, specialty food store, and wine bar, all in one. We’re hiring part-time and full time team members to join as we prepare for an opening soon.

Our Hospitality Team Members are the people guests interact with throughout their experience at Volta, and we expect every team member to contribute to an environment that is warm, knowledgeable, polished, and genuinely hospitable.

This is a multi-function front-of-house role. Team Members are expected to become proficient in three core areas of the operation: cashier, wine service, and stocking/support. Your responsibilities may shift throughout a shift based on the needs of the business.

We will provide a world-class training environment which will allow you to learn, taste, and contribute to the buying process at the store. There is also growth potential for driven employees to grow into management roles.

Compensation: $18-$25 hourly base pay. Estimated total earnings of approximately $25-30/hour including tips. Tip amounts are estimates only and fluctuate based on sales, seasonality, and other factors.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional hospitality — Welcome guests, provide attentive and knowledgeable service, and create a warm, polished, and memorable experience.
• Cashiering — Accurately process orders and payments, operate the POS, and maintain a clean, organized service area.
• Wine Service — Serve wine confidently and professionally, assist guests with selections, and maintain strong knowledge of Volta’s wine program.
• Stocking & Operations — Receive, organize, rotate, and replenish inventory; maintain clean, orderly storage and service areas.
• Food & Product Knowledge — Develop a strong understanding of Volta’s food, wine, and products and communicate that knowledge to guests.
• Maintain High Standards — Follow service, cleanliness, safety, and operational procedures consistently and pay close attention to detail.
• Be a Team Player — Move seamlessly between responsibilities, support coworkers, and proactively address whatever needs to be done.
• Represent Volta — Conduct yourself with professionalism, warmth, and genuine enthusiasm for great food, wine, and hospitality.

Required Qualifications

• Must love good food & wine! Passion for fine food & wine, beer, sake, and specialty beverages — especially small family producers and organic products
• Previous experience in either grocery, hospitality, or related food & wine industry preferred
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in hospitality and retail
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing), with the ability to communicate clearly with guests and coworkers and understand written procedures and product information
• High attention to detail, speed, and accuracy

Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations)

• Ability to lift and transport up to 40 lbs repeatedly
• Frequent bending, lifting, and twisting to move product and assist with merchandising.
• Ability to stand and remain active for 8–10 hour shifts
• Ability to tolerate hot, cold, and fluctuating temperatures
• Ability to hear, understand, and respond to requests in a loud environment

This is an in-person position, eligible for tips and overtime.
