Business and Data Analyst

Volt is immediately hiring a Business and Data Analyst in New York, NY

As a Business and Data Analyst, you will be :

• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
• Conduct analysis of business requirements and processes for data centric projects.
• Responsible for gathering and writing data requirements..
• Translate business requirements into data mapping specifications.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the data definitions, domain values, data relationships, business rules, sources, and data integration used in the business domain.
• Troubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolution.
• Work with Data Engineers who will implement technical solutions to meet business requirements.
• Support developers with data subject expertise.
• Support phases of project development, from analysis and design to testing and implementation.
• Ensure that technology solutions meet the defined requirements.
• Understanding of data quality and data governance.
• Provide ongoing support and training to business users on the new or revised systems.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
• Strong SQL query skills.
• Experience with SDLC.
• Strong analytical, profiling and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong knowledge with Big Data/Hadoop platform.
• Strong business analysis and requirements definition skills.
• Strong stakeholder presentation skills.
• Solid organization and planning skills.
• At least 7 years' financial industry technology experience and knowledge of financial services data.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Skills (Not required):

• Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with Agile project delivery.
• Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python).

This is a Contract opportunity.

Schedule: First Shift

Location: New York, NY

Duration: 12 Months

Pay Range: $60 – $69.72 per hour
