Volt is immediately hiring a Business and Data Analyst in New York, NY
As a Business and Data Analyst, you will be :
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
- Conduct analysis of business requirements and processes for data centric projects.
- Responsible for gathering and writing data requirements..
- Translate business requirements into data mapping specifications.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the data definitions, domain values, data relationships, business rules, sources, and data integration used in the business domain.
- Troubleshoot data issues and work with data providers for resolution.
- Work with Data Engineers who will implement technical solutions to meet business requirements.
- Support developers with data subject expertise.
- Support phases of project development, from analysis and design to testing and implementation.
- Ensure that technology solutions meet the defined requirements.
- Understanding of data quality and data governance.
- Provide ongoing support and training to business users on the new or revised systems.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
- Strong SQL query skills.
- Experience with SDLC.
- Strong analytical, profiling and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong knowledge with Big Data/Hadoop platform.
- Strong business analysis and requirements definition skills.
- Strong stakeholder presentation skills.
- Solid organization and planning skills.
- At least 7 years' financial industry technology experience and knowledge of financial services data.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Skills (Not required):
- Experience with data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Experience with Agile project delivery.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g., Python).
This is a Contract opportunity.
Schedule: First Shift
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Range: $60 – $69.72 per hour
