Planning Specialist

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Planning Specialist is a professional who plays a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to achieve organizational goals. Their responsibilities are key to supporting the operations planning and scheduling team.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Execute planning report based on direction from Material Planner. Assist in expediting and de-expediting work orders and purchase orders. Release work orders and purchase orders to preferred/approved suppliers. Manage inbound and outbound shipments with suppliers and internal traffic department.

Maintain positive communications with internal/external "customers" for raw materials, finished goods, supplies, and services (Customer Service, Suppliers, Inter-plant, operations, etc.).

Review and close work orders to Inventory and interplant receiving. Manage material issues to work order. Inventory counting. Manage/prepare shipment information. Prepare metric data and daily information reports. Prepare shop packets.

Assure proper approval, accounting, and processing controls are maintained. Involvement in continual improvement efforts.

Various administrative duties and JD Edwards/supporting system transaction processing. Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially pivot tables, vlookups, etc).

All other duties as assigned.

Experience

Required

• 1 - 2 years: Familiarity with and working knowledge of Manufacturing ERP systems

Education

Preferred

• High School or better in General Studies or related field
