Volleyball Academy delivers structured youth volleyball programs designed to introduce players to the sport in a fun, organized, and development-focused environment. Programs take place in schools and community facilities and follow a standardized curriculum to ensure a consistent experience across locations.
Our goal is to create positive first experiences in volleyball while helping young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and lifelong participation in sports.

Position Summary
The Senior Volleyball Coach & Program Lead is responsible for leading youth volleyball programs while overseeing on-site program operations. This role supports assistant coaches, ensures a high-quality experience for athletes and families, and manages basic logistics such as check-in, equipment setup, and parent communication.
This position provides hands-on program leadership experience and is ideal for candidates interested in youth sports operations and coaching.

Key Responsibilities:

Coaching Leadership
  • Lead youth volleyball programs for athletes ages 7–14
  • Deliver sessions using Volleyball Academy curriculum
  • Mentor and support assistant coaches during sessions
  • Maintain high coaching standards and positive player engagement

Program Operations
  • Manage player check-in and attendance
  • Set up and break down volleyball nets and equipment
  • Ensure sessions run safely and on schedule
  • Answer basic parent questions during programs

Program Experience
  • Create a positive and organized environment for players and families
  • Represent Volleyball Academy professionally in the community
  • Support program quality and consistency across sessions

Qualifications
  • Volleyball playing or coaching experience required
  • Experience working with youth athletes preferred
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Reliable, organized, and comfortable leading groups of young athletes
Former volleyball players and recent graduates in sports management, kinesiology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Schedule
Programs typically run:

  • Weekday afternoons and evenings
  • Occasional weekend sessions

Programs operate in two-month seasonal sessions throughout the year.

Compensation
  • $18 - $25 an hour depending on experience
  • Opportunities for additional coaching hours
  • Potential growth into expanded leadership roles as programs grow

Location
Programs take place in schools and community facilities in the Olney, Kensington, Bethesda, and Chevy Chase areas of Montgomery County, Maryland.
