AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE ADVISOR

PAY: $60,000–$100,000 per year
PAY PLAN: Base pay plus commission
JOB TYPE: Full-time
Volkswagen of Corpus Christi is a family-owned and operated dealership that has served the Coastal Bend for more than 16 years. We are looking for a friendly, motivated Automotive Service Advisor who enjoys helping customers and takes pride in staying organized and following through.
This is a fast-paced position for someone who can manage multiple customers and priorities throughout the day. Automotive service experience is helpful but not required—we will provide hands-on training. Candidates should have previous sales, retail, and/or customer service experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers and discuss their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Accurately document concerns and prepare repair orders
- Review vehicle inspections, repair estimates, and completion timelines
- Explain recommended maintenance and repairs clearly and professionally
- Help customers understand their options and make informed decisions
- Obtain customer authorization before additional work is performed
- Keep customers updated throughout the service and repair process
- Coordinate with automotive technicians, parts personnel, and service management
- Follow up with customers and assist with resolving concerns
- Maintain accurate records and close repair orders promptly
- Provide a positive customer experience from check-in through vehicle pickup
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous sales, retail, and/or customer service experience
- Organized, self-motivated, and able to follow through
- Able to prioritize tasks without constant supervision
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while being pulled in multiple directions
- Strong communication, listening, and problem-solving skills
- Professional, dependable, and calm under pressure
- Comfortable using computers, email, and text messaging
- Willing to learn automotive maintenance, repairs, and Volkswagen service processes
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Available to work Saturdays as scheduled
Previous experience as an automotive service advisor or service writer is helpful but not required. Experience in retail sales, hospitality, restaurants, insurance, wireless sales, or another fast-paced customer-facing position may also be a strong fit.
