Role Description

VEX is seeking a highly skilled Founding Crypto Liquidity Trader to join our growing trading team in Manhattan, New York.

This role is focused on building and scaling liquidity across spot and derivatives markets by managing sophisticated market-making and liquidity provision strategies. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience operating in high-frequency, proprietary, or institutional crypto trading environments and possesses a deep understanding of market microstructure, order book dynamics, spread optimization, and inventory risk management.

The trader will play a critical role in improving market depth, tightening spreads, enhancing execution quality, and ensuring stable two-sided market presence across key trading pairs and RWA-related products. This is a high-impact role operating at the core of VEX’s trading ecosystem and liquidity infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize market-making strategies across spot and derivative trading pairs
• Continuously provide two-sided quotes to improve order book depth, tighten spreads, and enhance overall market quality
• Monitor liquidity performance, inventory exposure, execution quality, and P&L in real time
• Design, develop, and iterate quoting strategies based on market conditions, volatility, and trading behavior
• Analyze market microstructure, order flow, and trading activity to improve liquidity efficiency and platform execution performance
• Manage token and exchange liquidity programs, including inventory deployment, spread management, and risk controls
• Collaborate closely with quant developers and infrastructure teams to optimize trading systems, APIs, execution engines, and latency-sensitive strategies
• Work with external market makers, institutional liquidity providers, and trading partners to scale platform liquidity
• Monitor abnormal trading activity, market dislocations, and potential manipulation risks across venues
• Produce liquidity analytics, execution reports, and market performance insights for internal stakeholders

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in crypto market making, electronic trading, proprietary trading, HFT, or liquidity management
• Strong understanding of market microstructure, order book dynamics, spread management, inventory balancing, and execution risk
• Hands-on experience trading on major crypto venues such as Binance, Bybit, OKX, Coinbase, Deribit, or similar exchanges
• Experience operating automated quoting systems, algorithmic execution strategies, or liquidity management tools
• Solid analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Python for trading analytics, research, or trading operations
• Familiarity with API trading infrastructure and low-latency trading environments
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-moving crypto markets while maintaining strong operational discipline
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within trading and technical teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience at a crypto exchange, market maker, HFT firm, or proprietary trading firm
• Experience with perpetual futures, options, OTC trading, or cross-exchange hedging strategies
• Familiarity with liquidity aggregation, smart order routing, and inventory optimization
• Existing relationships with institutional liquidity providers or crypto market-making firms
• Experience working with latency-sensitive trading systems in Rust, C , or similar environments
• Strong understanding of crypto derivatives and digital asset market structure

What We Offer

• Competitive base salary: $150,000 – $200,000
