Full Job Description
Excellent opportunity to join an industry leading, family-owned and operated coffee importer that has over 30 years of industry expertise. We are seeking a full-time logistics representative in our Red Bank office with a primary objective to get coffee from Point A to Point B with minimal disruption. Opportunities for advancement will be available for the individual who is goal and team oriented.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating the receipt, processing, and delivery of orders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
- Arranging and tracking the movement of goods via various transportation methods (road, rail, air, sea).
- Addressing and resolving any issues that arise during the logistics process, such as delays or damaged goods.
- Ensuring all logistics activities comply with legal regulations and maintain accurate documentation for shipments.
- Generating reports on logistics performance and analyzing data to identify areas for improvements.
- Working closely with other departments (e.g., sales, quality assurance, finance) to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Using logistics software and systems to streamline operations, track shipments, and manage data.
- Negotiating with suppliers and carriers to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable service.
- Provide Delivery Orders and invoices to customers.
- Accurately calculate carry, interest, and tariff charges
- Generate customer invoices, debit and credit notes
- Update customers on the shipment when warehouses forward the BOL
- Support Fair-Trade, Fair-Trade USA, and other certification reports, each quarter or as necessary
- Work with customs brokers to clear cargo, customs and verify FDA clearance
- Manage the sampling and delivery of coffee to customers with various warehouses & truckers.
- Organize and manage inventory in various warehouses.
Qualifications
- Inventory management and/or Logistics experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Self-starter that takes the initiative to tackle issues and solve problems
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- High-level problem-solving and follow-through capabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Green Coffee Inventory management and/or Logistics experience
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM field of study
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft 365 Suite
