What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent- Low Voltage position at Volarify?
The Superintendent will serve as the primary field authority, ensuring installations align with approved drawings, schedules, and client expectations. Success in this role requires strong leadership presence, technical expertise, and the ability to proactively coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, vendors, and general contractors.
This position requires regular jobsite walks in all conditions, full PPE compliance, and on-site presence whenever subcontractors are actively working.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – CORE

Champion jobsite safety culture, demonstrating and enforcing injury-free work practices

Coordinate field execution of low-voltage and technology scopes to meet constructability, quality, financial, and technical standards

Implement approved RFIs, ASCs, CCDs, and client-approved directives in the field

Perform job walks with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams for progress reviews and quality checks

Manage daily field documentation, including reports, safety logs, job walks, and as-built documentation

Coordinate trade-to-trade installation sequencing through shop drawings and submittals

Provide hands-on technical leadership related to field installation, safety, and best practices

Review schedules with subcontractors and Project Managers to align field activities with GC schedules

Support mock-up installations, training environments, and scope validation efforts

Lead, coach, and motivate field personnel and subcontractors through proactive communication and leadership

Keep Project Managers fully informed of all field direction to ensure alignment, eliminate verbal change orders, and manage cost impacts

Assist with developing schedules for submittals, shop drawings, BIM milestones, scope additions, and training activities

Track and report progress toward milestones to support schedule updates and progress billing

Identify, communicate, and resolve field issues quickly to minimize risk and disruption
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES – ADDITIONAL

Support coordination between the General Contractor and internal teams for all low-voltage scopes

Maintain professional and technical expertise through training, publications, and industry engagement

Support local civic and municipal engagement when applicable, including union coordination
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong ability to manage field operations accurately, efficiently, and on schedule
- Knowledge MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing)

Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field documentation tools

Deep understanding of construction project processes and superintendent-to-PM collaboration
