Description
The Planner is responsible for developing and managing comprehensive transportation plans, analyses, and initiatives that advance the Organization's mobility, infrastructure, and service goals. This role combines strategic planning, project management, and community engagement to support sustainable and efficient transportation systems.
Key responsibilities include preparing and evaluating project budgets, procuring consulting and professional services, and leading complex planning studies from concept through implementation. The Planner conducts data-driven analyses to inform planning recommendations, ensures alignment with organizational and regional objectives, and coordinates with internal departments, external agencies, and stakeholders to achieve project success.
The role also involves conducting public outreach, facilitating community engagement sessions, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership, partner organizations, and the public. The Planner is responsible for translating technical analyses into actionable strategies and implementing approved project recommendations.
This position requires strong analytical, communication, and project management skills, along with the ability to balance technical rigor with stakeholder collaboration. The Planner plays a key role in shaping the region's future mobility by advancing innovative, equitable, and data-informed transportation solutions.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in City Planning, Public/Business Administration or related field.
Three (3) years of experience in transportation planning, scheduling, or transit service management.
