JOB DESCRIPTION  Job Title:  MEP Coordinator  Division:  Wisconsin  Classification:  Exempt (Salaried)  Reports To:  MEP Project Manager   Department:  Office Operations  Status:  Regular Full‐Time  Purpose and Scope  In accordance with Vogel Bros. Building Co.’s beliefs / values / mission / vision, the MEP Coordinator acts as a  resource to Vogel Bros’ project teams for complex MEP systems as needed to support operations through  various stages of a project lifecycle.  The MEP Coordinator provides guidance and support to ensure high  levels of quality for Vogel Bros’ projects and works to set expectations for the design, planning & installation,  and commissioning of MEP systems.  The MEP Coordinator is primarily project based and reports to the MEP  Project Manager.  The MEP Coordinator is also required to stay flexible to the needs of the company and fill in  where assigned.  Essential Functions  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential  functions. The job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or  responsibilities that are required of this job. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be  assigned at any time with or without notice. The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:  Assist Vogel’s project teams by providing knowledge or expertise related to MEP systems.  Become familiar with all project drawings/specifications as necessary to provide support to project teams  as required.  Assist the VDC Manager during the BIM coordination process of a project and assist in resolving  clashes/conflicts as they arise.  Attend BIM meetings as needed to provide technical guidance or best practices for project teams during  the coordination phase of the project.  Assist the MEP Project Manager with constructability/document reviews for MEP scopes and inform  project team of conflicts to ensure high levels of quality for MEP design documents.  Assists the Project Manager in the buyout of the project, including negotiating and issuing subcontracts  and purchase orders for MEPs.  Support Vogel Bros. safety program and attend on site JHAs for MEP subcontractors.  Assists the MEP Project Manager with implementing a detailed startup/testing, and commissioning  schedule to aid in the overall project schedule development for each project assigned.  Participates in any pre‐installation meetings for MEP contractors needed for projects.  Assists MEP Project Manager with documenting quality incidents, lessons learned and best practices for  MEP systems.  Assist project team with defining MEP mockup requirements and coordinate any 1st installation  verifications for MEPs as required.  Assist in organizing MEP training events for Vogel Bros. employees.    Organize project team and MEP trades for the startup, testing and commissioning phase of the project.  Assist project team by utilizing tracking matrices to organize MEP startup teams, meet schedule  expectations, and resolve startup issues.  Page 1 of 3        Job Description – MEP Coordinator  Supervisory Responsibilities  MEP Project Engineers, if assigned.  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  Ability to manage and assist numerous projects of varying sizes across all stages of the project life cycle.   Basic knowledge of all MEP systems  Exceptional problem‐solving capabilities.  Self‐motivated and takes ownership of work performed on behalf of Vogel Bros.  Demonstrates behaviors consistent with Vogel core beliefs and values.   Good verbal and written communication skills; attention to detail.  Physical Requirements  The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to  successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to  enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.  o Ability to lift 25 pounds without assistance  o Ability to communicate effectively with others   Behavioral Requirements   Include but are not limited to the following:  o Be punctual  o Be dependable  o Be cooperative  o Be able to take direction  Work Environment  Indoor, temperature‐controlled environment  When visiting job sites, may be exposed to:  o Heat, cold, rain, sleet, snow and other outdoor weather conditions  o Walking surfaces that may be uneven and affected by weather and construction conditions  o Moderate to loud noise levels  Education and Experience  3  years’ experience in construction and/or MEP coordination  Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management  Page 2 of 3
