What are the responsibilities and job description for the Passenger Transportation Driver (Part-Time) position at Vodec?
As a Route Driver, you will help transport individuals with disabilities using organization vehicles (wheelchair accessible passenger van and/or mini bus). Transportation includes picking up and dropping off consumers from their homes and the Vodec Center. Additionally, staff will assist consumers with boarding and exiting the vehicle.

- No experience required - on the job training!
- Wage: $17.50 per hour
- Part-time: Monday-Friday (10 hours per week)
- Shifts: PM shift 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm
- Location: Omaha, NE
- Bonus: $1,000 (paid in one increment after six months of continued employment)
Responsibilities and Duties
- Drive vehicle to transport consumers over specified routes
- Follow the local (and/or rural route) of transportation as assigned by your supervisor
- Complete transportation schedules within appropriate time frames
- Perform simple vehicle emergency functions (change tires, seek help and assistance)
- Report delays or accidents according to the organization’s policies
- Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort
- Assist passengers on and off the vehicle
- Inspect vehicle and maintains adequate fluid levels
Qualifications Include
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Satisfactory driving record (no more than three moving violations in the most recent 36-month period)
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for vehicle type being required to operate
- Must be able to pass a background check
