What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead position at Vocational Services, Inc.?
We are a non-profit company that works with people with disabilities in a production setting. We provide contract services for multiple business, providing services such as assembly, packaging, labeling, kitting, sorting, shrink wrapping, gluing, taping and heat sealing. This is a rewarding experience to help those with disabilities learn new skills so they can have more opportunities for employment as well as community integration. We are looking for the right person to join our team as the newest Production Lead for our Liberty, MO location.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, coordinate, and document the production work
- Demonstrate job duties to employees and observe them performing tasks to ensure they understand the job tasks and requirements.
- Monitor the work performance at each employee’s station to ensure compliance with procedures, safety regulations, and quality control.
- Accurately calculate and track piece rate count totals to ensure proper payment.
- Provide ongoing training, mentoring and support to individuals in the workplace.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and (1) year of experience in manufacturing production supervisor experience or training.
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to inspire trust and motivate others to perform well.
- Knowledge of working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

- Work schedule Monday - Friday 08:00 am until 04:30 pm.
- 1st wage increase after 90 days and then yearly on your anniversary date.
- PTO time after 90 days, that grows with length of service.
- Closed 9 holidays - New Year's Day; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Thanksgiving and the Friday after; Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
