Position Summary
The Director of Strategic Accounts is responsible for leading, expanding, and optimizing high-value client relationships within the healthcare staffing sector. This role ensures exceptional service delivery, drives revenue growth, and strengthens long-term partnerships with key hospital systems, health networks, and large healthcare organizations. The Director serves as a primary strategic liaison, collaborating cross-functionally with operations, recruitment, compliance, and leadership teams to deliver tailored workforce solutions that meet client needs.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned strategic healthcare clients.
- Build, nurture, and strengthen executive-level relationships across client organizations.
- Conduct regular business reviews to understand client challenges, performance, and future needs.
Strategic Planning & Growth
- Develop and execute account plans that drive revenue, fill rates, and overall account performance.
- Identify opportunities to expand service offerings including travel, per-diem, locums, and workforce solutions.
- Analyze market trends, client utilization, and performance data to recommend strategic actions.
Operational Excellence
- Partner with recruiting, credentialing, and compliance teams to ensure accurate, timely delivery of clinicians.
- Oversee resolution of escalations, service issues, or contract-related concerns.
- Ensure contract terms, rate structures, and service expectations are executed consistently.
Performance Management
- Monitor key metrics such as GP%, fill rate, cycle time, time-to-fill, and client satisfaction.
- Prepare regular reporting for internal leadership and client stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across assigned accounts.
Contract & Pricing Management
- Support contract negotiations, renewals, and rate strategy to maximize profitability and competitiveness.
- Ensure compliance with MSP/VMS requirements and client-specific workforce program rules.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure flawless service delivery.
- Lead internal strategy meetings to align priorities and resource allocation for each strategic account.
- Mentor junior account managers and support staff to develop professional growth and performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 5 years of experience in healthcare staffing, workforce solutions, or MSP/VMS environments.
- Proven success managing large or strategic accounts within the healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of recruitment workflows, credentialing, contracting, and compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyze data, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
