Responsibilities

  • Lead structural analysis and design of steel structures, equipment supports, foundations, anchorage and other related systems.
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and nuclear facility design requirements in accordance with NQA-1 and ASCE, AISC, and ACI codes.
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and other design documentation.
  • Review and interpret customer design criteria to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and design personnel.
  • Conduct field walkdowns, site investigations, and provide construction support during installation and commissioning.
  • Perform design reviews and constructability assessments to improve project execution quality.
  • Support preparation of proposals, estimates, and technical reports.
  • Evaluate and apply broad engineering principles and judgement to solve complex design problems.
  • Manage multiple projects of moderate to large scope or lead major project segments.
  • Advance company design processes and quality procedures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support professional development across the team.

Qualifications

 Required Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in engineering design
  • At least 8 years of experience in support of nuclear facilities or designs
  • Proficient knowledge of IBC, ASCE-7, ACI, and AISC codes and standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer proficiency with tools relevant to structural design and documentation.  

 

Desired Qualifications   

  • Professional Engineering License and the ability to obtain PE licenses in multiple states
  • Familiarity with MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and SolidWorks
  • Proficiency with RISA-3D, RISA Connection, and RISA Foundation
  • Experience with federal projects for DOE, DoD, or Hanford facilities
  • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with clients and regulatory agencies

  • Adherence to NQA-1 and company policies and procedures.
  • Lead project teams through effective coordination and communication.
  • Meet project scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
  • Promote safety, integrity, and professionalism in all engineering practices.
  • Support company growth through technical excellence and customer satisfaction.

Salary Range: $165,000.00 - $195,000.00
