Job Summary:
We are looking to hire a Level 1 Warehouse Associate for our Stainless Division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Navigate within warehousing programs in ERP system.
- Ensure proper selection for orders, keep orders separate by shipment, mark orders as to partial shipments, out of stock, material test retrieval, etc.
- Deliver order to verification area with accurate requested documentation.
- Pack parts or products in standard boxes or crates for domestic or foreign shipments to conform with specifications and requirements.
- Form up, staple or tape seal boxes. Place locators and pads to prevent shifts and damage, seal cartons to ensure travel quality. Requisition packing materials.
- Responsible for the preparation of domestic and foreign shipments in accordance with shipping requirements and specifications. Must process on UPS and FedEx systems.
- Check shipment, front and back, for correct materials i.e. packing and crating, tagging and handling instructions, loading and bracing, and any fragile labels.
- Process LTL truck shipments via internet and phone arrangements.
- Reporting order shipping details requested by Customer Service.
- Operate pallet jack or other equipment to load or move materials. Load or unload material onto or from pallets, trays, or shelves.
- Perform daily cycle counts.
- Report shortages or other discrepancies.
- Check quantity, type, size, part numbers, lot numbers, dimensions, etc. to properly identify materials. May weigh, count and mark materials as directed.
- Report all discrepancies to Manager.
- Regular and dependable attendance.
Marginal Duties:
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Bag and label product for Grainger and MSC.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education equivalent to four years of high school.
- Must have up to three months of warehouse experience and/or transferable skills.
- Must be computer literate in a windows-based environment.
- Must be quality and safety conscious and have the ability to work with a variety of departments.
