SUMMARY
The Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for implementing policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborates with management to develop, prepare, and implement EHS policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and local safety laws, regulations and codes.
- Adopts a proactive approach to providing a safe working environment.
- Maintains company OSHA programs such as Hazard Communication, Lockout Tagout, Hearing Conservation, Forklift, Respirator, Emergency Planning, PPE, Industrial Hygiene, etc.
- Reviews current EHS training and recommends revisions, improvements and updates.
- Performs all required EHS training with employees.
- Investigates all accidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to minimize workplace injuries, accidents and health problems.
- Inspect the facilities to identify EHS risks.
- Implement and maintain the company’s fleet safety program.
- Perform new hire safety orientation.
- Work with company insurance loss control representatives.
- Provide guidance to employee safety committee members.
- Will support EHS program at High Purity Technology as well.
QUALIFICATIONS
Four-year bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, or related field required. One to three years of related experience preferred. Must have ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff and employees. Effective verbal and written communication skills required. Must be proficient in Microsoft word, excel and outlook. Ability to work with minimal supervision and remain motivated is essential. Must have excellent follow through and organizational skills.
