Marketing & Communications Intern

The Marketing & Communications Intern is a part-time role and will report to the Corporate Specialist. The Marketing & Communications Intern will support the company’s marketing, communications, and creative initiatives through content creation, graphic design, photography, social media support, and internal communications. This hands-on internship provides an opportunity to gain real-world experience while contributing to projects that showcase the company’s people, culture, projects, and brand. 

The ideal candidate is creative, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to develop skills in marketing, communications, graphic design, photography, and visual storytelling. This position will work closely with the marketing team and may collaborate with employees across the company, including project managers, superintendents, field teams, and office personnel. 

Communications & Social Media 

• Assist with the planning, design, and production of the company’s monthly newsletter.
• Help create layouts and organize content into engaging and visually appealing sections.
• Assist with writing, editing, and refining content for project highlights, employee spotlights, safety updates, company events, and other company news. 
• Gather photos, quotes, and information from employees and project teams. 
• Review content for accuracy, grammar, consistency, and alignment with company messaging. 
• Coordinate with superintendents, project managers, and field teams to collect project updates, milestones, photos, and other relevant information. 
• Assist with developing content for social media platforms.
• Organize photos, project updates, and other content for future marketing use. 
• Support the planning and scheduling of social media and marketing content. 

Photography

• Assist with capturing professional photographs at jobsites, company events, and office locations. 
• Organize and maintain a library of company photography and visual assets. 
• Basic photo editing and enhancing of jobsite, employee, and company photographs using tools such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop
• Prepare photographs for use in social media, newsletters, presentations, marketing materials, and internal communications.

Presentations and Slideshows 

• Assist with creating slides that highlight project progress, company accomplishments, employee recognition, and other important company initiatives. 
• Ensure presentations follow established company branding and visual standards. 

Graphic Design 

• Assist with designing branded graphics for social media, marketing materials, events, recruiting initiatives, and internal communications.
• Assist with maintaining and updating marketing templates and branded materials.

Creative Development 

• Participate in creative brainstorming and concept development for marketing campaigns and company initiatives.
• Create mockups, concept designs, and visual materials that support company projects.
  

• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Photography, or a related field preferred. 
• Previous experience through coursework, internships, freelance work, or personal projects is a plus. 
• Strong interest in marketing, communications, graphic design, photography, and social media. 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
• Basic knowledge of social media platforms. 
• Experience or familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Lightroom, is preferred. 
• Able to perform basic to intermediate tasks within Microsoft Office applications. 
• Basic photography and photo-editing skills preferred. 
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

This is a part-time internship position that may require work in both office and active jobsite environments. The intern may periodically travel to company projects, events, and other locations to gather content and capture photography. 

When visiting jobsites, the intern must follow all applicable company and project safety requirements.
