Job Description:

Act as the primary hands-on consultant for this engagement: conduct the discovery interviews, observe and assess both live PI planning events, lead the iterative framework design and showcase cycles, and coach CLIENT teams through implementation

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and conduct stakeholder interviews before and after each PI event (current-state discovery and post-PI synthesis)

Attend and directly observe the October and January Kansas PI events using a structured observation rubric

Facilitate structured ideation cycles and both stakeholder showcase sessions (Weeks 8 and 11)

Design the proposed Scaled Agile framework components (roles, ceremonies, artifacts, governance) tailored to CLIENT's operating model

Provide in-the-room coaching during live ceremonies through the Weeks 12–20 implementation phase

Track adoption indicators between the two PI events to produce a before/after comparison for the final read-out

Required Qualifications (Must-Have):

12-15 of overall experience with 6 years working as an agile coach, Release Train Engineer, or equivalent in scaled-agile environments

Direct, hands-on experience facilitating or formally assessing PI planning events (not just team-level Scrum)

Strong stakeholder-interviewing and facilitation skills; comfortable running working sessions with mixed seniority levels

Able to travel to Kansas for both PI events (approx. 1 week each, October and January)

SAFe Practice Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification, or equivalent scaled-agile credential

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have):

Prior experience in financial services, insurance, or another highly regulated industry

Experience designing (not just implementing) a scaled-agile operating model from scratch

Familiarity with dependency-visibility and planning tooling commonly used in PI planning (e.g., Jira Align, digital program boards)
