About the Role

  • Planned, developed, and implemented age-appropriate lesson plans and learning activities supporting children’s cognitive, social, emotional, language, and motor development.
  • Created a positive, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that encouraged children’s independence, self-esteem, creativity, and overall development.
  • Applied Reggio Emilia concepts across indoor and outdoor learning environments to promote exploration, hands-on learning, and child development.
  • Observed, documented, and communicated children’s daily progress, developmental milestones, behaviors, and activities through reports and parent feedback.
  • Prepared and maintained accurate child records, observations, lesson plans, assessments, and progress documentation in accordance with established requirements.
  • Promoted gross and fine motor skills, language development, social interaction, independence, and self-confidence through structured and play-based activities.
  • Built positive relationships with children and families, providing regular feedback and supporting smooth transitions into and out of the classroom.
  • Supervised teacher aides, volunteers, and classroom support staff, ensuring appropriate coverage and adherence to established procedures.
  • Collaborated with teachers, team leaders, site supervisors, and directors to address children’s developmental needs, classroom requirements, and family concerns.
  • Maintained compliance with licensing, accreditation, regulatory, health, safety, and infection-control standards.
  • Maintained clean, organized, and safe classrooms by routinely sanitizing tables, chairs, cabinets, cubbies, cots, toys, bookshelves, and other learning materials.
  • Identified and removed broken toys, unsafe surfaces, spills, debris, and other potential classroom or playground hazards.
  • Ensured proper preparation, labeling, storage, and secure handling of bleach and cleaning solutions in accordance with safety procedures.
  • Maintained appropriate playground supervision and staff positioning to ensure adequate coverage and timely response to children’s needs.
  • Participated actively in staff meetings, required training, continuing education, special sessions, and departmental initiatives.
  • Maintained effective teamwork and communication while supporting program goals, best practices, and the developmental needs of children and families.
  • Assisted with environmental and operational needs to maintain a safe, clean, well-stocked, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
  • Performed additional duties and special projects as assigned in support of departmental and organizational objectives.


Qualifications:

  • 2 years of formal experience working with children, with previous experience supporting children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age.
  • Preferred experience specifically working with infants and toddlers from 6 weeks to 2 years old.
  • Familiarity with the Reggio Emilia approach and its application in early childhood education.
  • Strong reasoning, logical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, reading, comprehension, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, noisy, and constantly changing environment.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to children’s safety, development, and individual needs.
  • Comfortable handling frequent and high-intensity interactions with children, parents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to adapt to changing classroom needs, schedules, priorities, and assignments.
  • Physically capable of frequent bending, climbing steps/ladders, standing, walking, and active classroom participation.
  • Strong awareness of child safety, supervision, and environmental requirements.
