The salary range for this position is [$100K - $110K] per year. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand the existing Selenium-based automation framework and test suite.
- Develop and implement a robust Playwright automation framework.
- We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer / SDET to lead and execute the migration of our existing UI automation framework from Selenium to Playwright.
- The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in test automation, framework development, JavaScript/TypeScript, and CI/CD integration.
- The role involves analyzing the existing Selenium automation suite, designing the Playwright automation architecture, migrating existing test cases, improving test stability and execution speed, and integrating the new framework into the CI/CD pipeline.
- Migrate existing Selenium test cases to Playwright while maintaining functional coverage.
- Identify opportunities to improve test execution time, reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
- Develop reusable page objects, utilities, fixtures, test data management, and common automation components.
- Implement best practices for Playwright locators, auto-waiting, assertions, fixtures, and parallel execution.
- Refactor flaky or unstable Selenium tests during the migration process.
- Integrate Playwright tests with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
- Configure test execution across multiple browsers and environments.
- Implement screenshots, videos, traces, logs, and other debugging/reporting mechanisms.
- Develop and maintain automated regression, smoke, sanity, and end-to-end test suites.
- Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, business analysts, and DevOps teams.
- Perform code reviews and establish automation coding standards.
- Track migration progress, identify risks/dependencies, and provide regular status updates.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of automation failures in CI/CD environments.
- Document the new Playwright framework, migration approach, coding standards, and execution process.
