JOB DESCRIPTION
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for all aspects of warehouse functions including the receiving, storing, handling, shipping, and preparing of product for customer delivery while maintaining the warehouse in a safe and orderly fashion.
WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO
- Loads and unloads materials in warehouse and performs a variety of other warehouse tasks.
- Reads work order, shipping order, or follows verbal instructions.
- Loads and unloads materials into or from vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
- Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or another device.
- Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
- Maintains and compiles records as required. May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
- Manages and coordinates storage and distribution activities of the company to ensure maximum utilization of facilities.
- Administers operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
- Assures products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner.
- Evaluates physical condition of warehouse and equipment and prepares work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
- Works with Director in ensuring coordination of warehouse activities such as production, sales, records control, and purchasing departments.
- Takes precautions to secure warehouse contents against loss.
- Prepares or reviews distribution documents.
- Manages salvage of damaged or used material.
- May participate in planning personnel safety and plant-protection activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- High School Diploma
- Shipping / Receiving Experience Preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Valid Driver's License
