VKA Security is growing — and we’re looking for an experienced Lead Fire Alarm Technician to join our team of talented professionals serving Northeast Florida.
We specialize in installing and servicing security, fire, access control, and locksmith systems across residential, small business, and commercial projects.
As a Lead Technician, you’ll take ownership of fire alarm installations, panel programming, service projects, and inspections — ensuring code compliance, mentoring junior techs, and upholding VKA’s high standards for quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and Attributes:
· 10 years of experience in Fire Alarm and Low Voltage systems
· NICET II or higher certification strongly preferred
· Knowledge of NFPA codes, fire marshal requirements, and local AHJ processes
· Proficiency in system installation, programming, testing, and troubleshooting
· Ability to lead, train, and motivate field technicians and coordinate with project managers
· Security, Access Control, and CCTV experience are a plus
· Strong organizational skills, computer skills, communication, and professionalism
· Capable of meeting deadlines and working efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee fire alarm installations and inspections from start to finish
- Train and support junior technicians on proper installation and testing procedures
- Ensure code compliance and documentation accuracy for inspections and closeouts
- Interface with contractors, customers, and AHJs to resolve site issues effectively
- Maintain safety, quality, and efficiency standards across all assigned projects
- Complete service tickets, invoicing, and material tracking for daily operations
- Work with management and leadership to improve upon existing processes
