Business Development Intern

Location: Fort Lee, NJ (In Person)

Schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30 AM – 3:30 PM

Dates: July 6 – August 23, 2026

Compensation: $25/hour

VJB New York is a founder-led fashion and accessories brand inspired by three generations of garment makers and textile traditions connecting South Asia and New York City. We create apparel, jewelry and accessories that blend contemporary design with cultural storytelling.

We are seeking a highly motivated student or recent graduate interested in entrepreneurship, consumer brands, fashion, retail, and business strategy to work directly with the founder during a critical growth stage.

You will help identify the fastest path to growth and revenue for an emerging fashion brand.

Projects may include:

• Researching wholesale, retail, and partnership opportunities
• Building and managing prospect lists
• Conducting outreach to boutiques, clubs, event organizers, and retailers
• Analyzing competitors and market opportunities
• Supporting pop-up events and brand activations
• Creating business presentations and growth recommendations
• Evaluating new sales channels and partnership opportunities
• Assisting with financial modeling and business planning
• Researching grants, accelerators, and funding opportunities
  

By the end of the fellowship, we hope to have:

• A clear growth roadmap
• A qualified pipeline of potential partners and retailers
• Outreach completed to targeted prospects
• Revenue-generating opportunities identified
• Strategic recommendations for scaling the business
  

• Current student or recent graduate
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Comfortable with Excel, Google Sheets, and presentations
• Interested in startups, entrepreneurship, fashion, consumer products, or e-commerce
• Self-directed and resourceful
• Curious, creative, and willing to take initiative
  

• Direct mentorship from a founder
• Exposure to brand building, retail strategy, and entrepreneurship
• Hands-on experience helping shape the growth of an emerging business
• Meaningful ownership of projects and recommendations
• Strong references for future roles and graduate school applications
