What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Specialist position at Viwinco?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead by example, serving as a positive role model for others.
- Ensure the receiving environment aligns with Viwinco’s Core Tenets and Production System.
- Utilize escalation processes for issues related to safety, quality, maintenance, and human resources.
- Unload incoming material utilizing manual and/or powered equipment.
- Interact with drivers, verify shipment contents match BOL, complete paperwork.
- Verify shipment content detail matches packing slip, apply inventory labels.
- Coordinate material put-away with Material Handlers, assist as necessary.
- Navigate receiving challenges and take appropriate action to maintain material flow.
- Ensure receiving areas remain organized and clean to support a productive working environment.
- Coordinate and deliver training for new employees and cross-training for existing employees.
- Participate in the creation and implementation of Standard Work.
- Collect data and contribute to report-outs on performance metrics.
- Conduct inventory procedures and WIP (Work in Progress) counts at month-end.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience with Standard Work, 5S, and receiving best practices.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
- Capability to lift and handle objects weighting up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable and skilled in the use of software applications and scanning systems.
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Willingness to learn and cross-train in multiple roles to support business needs.
