Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Business Development & Alliance Manager at Vivtex Corporation, in Boston, MA, US. This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for driving the company's strategic growth through the identification, negotiation, and management of new business opportunities and long-term strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of strategic vision, commercial acumen, and interpersonal skills to foster collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and execute a comprehensive business development and alliance strategy that aligns with the company's overall objectives and drives significant revenue growth.
- Opportunity Identification & Evaluation: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including potential licensing agreements, collaborations, and acquisitions.
- Deal Negotiation and Closure: Lead complex negotiations for high-value deals and partnership agreements, ensuring favorable terms and successful deal closure.
- Alliance Management Oversight: Serve as the primary liaison for established strategic alliances, ensuring effective governance, issue resolution, and the achievement of mutually beneficial outcomes and contractual obligations.
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and potential partners across the biotech and pharma ecosystem.
- Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with internal teams, including R&D, IP, finance, and legal, to ensure seamless execution of partnership initiatives and strategic alignment.
- Financial Oversight and Reporting: Manage budgets, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular, data-driven reports and forecasts on business development activities and alliance performance to senior leadership.
Qualifications and Skills
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences is required and a MBA is preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or a related leadership role, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and managing complex alliances.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of relevant market dynamics, industry trends, and the competitive landscape within the global market.
- Skills: Exceptional negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship management skills are essential.
- Strategic Mindset: Strong strategic thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills to identify innovative solutions and long-term growth opportunities.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Location and Compensation
- Location: Office based in Boston, MA, USA, with occasional travel to the Zurich, Switzerland office. Must also be available for global travel to conferences and on-site meetings with biotech & pharma companies.
