Position Summary
Vivid Pathology is seeking a professional, customer-focused Medical Logistics Courier to join our growing logistics team. This position is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely transportation of pathology specimens, laboratory supplies, reports, slides, and other materials between Vivid Pathology and its clients throughout Florida and Alabama.
This role is significantly more than a delivery position. The Medical Logistics Courier serves as a direct representative of Vivid Pathology and is responsible for maintaining specimen integrity, supporting client needs, utilizing technology platforms, and ensuring exceptional service at every client location.
The ideal candidate is dependable, technology-savvy, detail-oriented, and committed to providing outstanding customer service while supporting the critical diagnostic work performed by Vivid Pathology.
Essential Responsibilities
Specimen Transportation
- Transport pathology specimens, slides, reports, laboratory supplies, and related materials between client locations and the laboratory.
- Maintain specimen integrity and chain-of-custody throughout the transportation process.
- Verify proper specimen labeling, packaging, and documentation during pickup and delivery.
- Follow all laboratory, OSHA, HIPAA, DOT, and company transportation requirements.
- Immediately report any specimen discrepancies, delays, or transportation concerns.
Client Service
- Serve as a professional representative of Vivid Pathology at all client locations.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with physician offices, hospitals, surgery centers, and clinics.
- Assist clients with supply requests and logistics-related questions.
- Communicate effectively with laboratory staff and clients regarding pickups, deliveries, and special requests.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support at all times.
Technology & Tracking
- Utilize mobile applications, routing software, GPS systems, and specimen tracking platforms.
- Document specimen pickups, deliveries, and supply distributions electronically.
- Assist with implementation and adoption of new logistics technologies.
- Accurately record transportation data and chain-of-custody information.
- Participate in testing and feedback for new logistics applications and workflow tools.
Supply Management
- Deliver laboratory supplies to client locations.
- Monitor client inventory needs and communicate shortages or concerns.
- Assist with supply tracking and inventory accountability.
- Ensure accurate documentation of all distributed materials.
Operational Excellence
- Maintain assigned vehicle in a clean, safe, and professional condition.
- Follow established routes while remaining flexible to accommodate urgent requests.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and client service.
- Participate in departmental training and process improvement initiatives.
- Support other courier routes and operational needs as required.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer and mobile device proficiency.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform frequent driving and walking.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, pathology, laboratory services, or medical transportation.
- Familiarity with specimen handling requirements.
- Experience using mobile applications, routing software, and electronic tracking systems.
- Customer service or client-facing experience.
- Interest in technology and process improvement.
