Job Summary
We are seeking a Part-Time Geriatrician (MD/DO/NP/PA) to join our interdisciplinary team at a leading Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital in the greater Washington D.C. Area.

You will provide critical geriatric consultation and co-management, ensuring high-quality, specialized care for our older adult patients during their intensive rehabilitation stay.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive geriatric assessments on referred inpatient rehabilitation patients.
- Manage complex geriatric syndromes (e.g., delirium, falls, polypharmacy, incontinence, malnutrition) and acute/chronic medical conditions unique to the older adult population.
- Collaborate closely with Physiatrists (PM&R) and Internal Medicine Physicians to optimize patient medical management and rehabilitation readiness.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care, functional goals, and discharge planning.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and the care team regarding age-related health changes and preventative care.
- Focus on medication reconciliation and deprescribing to reduce adverse drug events.
Compensation & Structure
- Financial Arrangement: This position involves an independent contractor relationship. The provider will establish and manage their own billing relationship with patients/insurers (fee-for-service model).
- Schedule: Highly flexible, part-time schedule to be determined by the provider and hospital needs. This is an ideal role for a clinician seeking to supplement an existing practice or achieve excellent work-life balance.
Qualifications
Required:
- MD or DO: Board-certified or Board-eligible in Geriatric Medicine (or Internal Medicine/Family Medicine with extensive Geriatrics experience).
- NP or PA: Certified/Licensed Advanced Practice Provider with specialized experience or certification in Geriatrics.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the District of Columbia and/or Maryland/Virginia (or ability to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience in inpatient, post-acute, or long-term care settings, preferably within a rehabilitation environment.
- Strong clinical skills in managing complex multi-morbid older adults.
Preferred:
- Experience as an independent practitioner/independent billing.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
