Position Summary:
We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Commercial Interior Designer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating functional, innovative, and aesthetically engaging workplace, healthcare, education, and commercial environments while collaborating closely with clients, sales professionals, manufacturers, and project teams.
This role is responsible for developing furniture layouts, space plans, specifications, and presentation materials that support client needs and project objectives. Experience using CET Designer is required and will be a key component of daily responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client goals, project scope, budgets, and timelines.
- Develop creative furniture plans, space layouts, and interior design solutions for commercial environments.
- Create detailed drawings, renderings, and specifications using CET Designer.
- Produce high-quality 2D and 3D presentations to communicate design concepts to clients.
- Specify furniture, finishes, fabrics, and materials that align with project requirements and manufacturer standards.
- Coordinate with manufacturers, project managers, and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare accurate furniture specifications, bills of materials, and pricing documentation.
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and site visits as needed.
- Assist with field verification, measurements, and installation support.
- Stay current on workplace trends, healthcare design standards, manufacturer product offerings, and industry best practices.
- Ensure all designs comply with applicable building codes, ADA requirements, and client standards where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of commercial interior design experience.
- Required proficiency in CET Designer (Configura) for space planning, specifications, rendering, and documentation.
- Experience specifying commercial furniture from major manufacturers such as Steelcase, Herman Miller, Haworth, Kimball, or similar.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and SketchUp or Revit is a plus.
- Strong understanding of commercial furniture systems, architectural drawings, and construction documentation.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in healthcare, corporate workplace, education, or government interiors.
- Knowledge of ancillary furniture, architectural walls, and interior finish selections.
- Experience with project management software and CRM platforms.
