DESCRIPTION
Vivacity Media Group is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, and detail-oriented Publicity Intern to provide assistance on PR campaigns for the agency’s Broadway, Off-Broadway and Institutional Theater Clients. As a boutique agency, we offer the opportunity for interns to be fully immersed in the inner workings of our publicity operations, gaining experience in a wide range of activities – from daily account administrative responsibilities, including media outlet research and monitoring & clipping of client press coverage, to providing on-site assistance at client- and press-facing meetings and events. As vital members of our team, interns have an opportunity to learn public relations practices in a hands-on manner, as well as observe how the network of theater professionals work together to launch a show – from PR to producers, marketers, managers, creatives, performers, crew, and more!
Job Responsibilities of the Publicity Intern Include (but are not limited to):
—Assist with the monitoring, clipping, and indexing of daily client press coverage.
—Assist with the processing of press ticket requests for all shows
—Research new media contacts, story trends, and potential pitch opportunities for clients, and
update media contact lists
—Assist in the planning, organizing and execution of press events, photo shoots, client interviews and other activities
—Stay informed of industry news/social media conversations, and organize company charts & documents as needed
—Assist in planning and implementing social media activity for Vivacity channels
Job Requirements:
— Bachelor’s Degree or Current Major in PR, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or Theater, is recommended (but not required.)
— Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Twitter, Instagram, and a basic understanding of Adobe Photoshop.
— Ideal candidate has exemplary skills in task management, organization, confidentiality, and attention to detail
— Excellent writing, conversational, and relationship-building skills are a plus
— Ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure.

This is a paid internship, on an hourly part-time structure within the office hours of 10am-6pm, Monday through Friday — we can be flexible and build a schedule around school or other regular commitments. Vivacity office activity is split between in-person and remote work, with the office always available for use when preferred.
On occasion, evening and weekend work is requested for major events, like opening nights or critics performances – those dates will be provided with advance notice.
