Lauves Pediatric Day Center - Lubbock LVN

We are a Pediatric Day Center for medically fragile special needs children. We provide daily nursing care (M-F, 7:30am-5:30pm) in our facility for children ages birth thru 21 years of age who qualify for skilled nursing services.

A Licensed Vocational Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will have at least the following qualifications and experience:

• a valid LVN license under Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 301, with no disciplinary action
• valid certifications in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Basic First Aid; and one year of pediatric specialty experience with emphasis on medically and technologically dependent minors, obtained within the previous five years
• One of the following:
• One year of pediatric specialty experience with emphasis on medically and technologically dependent minors obtained within the last consecutive five years; or
• sufficient skills to meet the competency and training requirements
  

A Licensed Vocational Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will be responsible for the following:

• maintaining compliance with the standards of nursing practice and delegation;
• providing nursing interventions that includes parental training, information, and education to increase a parent's confidence and competence in caring for a minor;
• having knowledge of the availability of community resources
• participating on the IDT and in the IDT meetings regarding a minor's plan of care and progress;
• communicating findings to a minor's prescribing physician and an RN; and
• administering medications, intravenous infusions, parenteral feeding, and other specialized treatments; monitoring and documenting the effect of medications, therapies and progress in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice.
